Texas Republicans’ recently unveiled redistricting plan would create a solid-red MAGA five-seat advantage.

The illegally drawn map came at the prompting of Trump’s own Department of Justice, who claimed that districts containing a majority Black and Hispanic population were unfair.

The new map, as a result, is racially targeted toward highly-populated, majority-minority areas—with a specific aim to dilute the voting power of these demographics. It’s a disaster for the Voting Rights Act.

This case is likely to go all the way to the Supreme Court. And we know better than to rely on Trump’s MAGA justices to protect our rights and our democracy.

This is what manipulating democracy looks like.
