Tell Gavin Newsom: Stop Platforming Right-Wing Extremists
Gavin Newsom has built his brand as a fighter, someone unafraid to take on Trump and stand strong for Democratic values. From defending abortion rights to challenging conservative media on their home turf, he’s earned praise from progressives across the country.
That’s why his latest move is so disappointing and dangerous.
With his new podcast, Newsom says he wants to “have conversations.” But he’s not just talking to Republicans, he’s giving a megaphone to far-right extremists like Steve Bannon and Charlie Kirk. These aren’t just controversial figures. They are architects of lies, division, and insurrection. And instead of challenging them forcefully, Newsom has echoed their language and even compared Bannon to Bernie Sanders.
This isn’t bridge-building. It’s legitimizing hate.
Now, Republicans are using Newsom’s own words to push anti-trans legislation. This is exactly what happens when we normalize extremism: it spreads. It gains credibility. It gets weaponized.
If Gavin Newsom is serious about leading the Democratic Party, and possibly the country, he needs to understand that this is not a moment for neutrality or nuance. This is a moment for courage, for clarity, and for standing firmly against fascism in all its forms.
We need Democratic leaders who will stand against the lies, the bigotry, and the hate, not give it airtime. No more platforms for hate. No more giving MAGA talking points the dignity of debate. It’s time to fight back.
Demand that Governor Gavin Newsom stop platforming right-wing extremists and start standing up to them with the urgency this moment demands.
