SB 1135, the California Wildlife Coexistence Act, has officially passed the California Legislature. Now Governor Gavin Newsom must sign it into law.

This is a major milestone for building a future where California invests in proactive, science-based, nonlethal approaches to human-wildlife conflict.

SB 1135 would help California strengthen wildlife coexistence efforts and give communities better tools and resources to prevent conflict before it escalates, helping protect people, livestock, domestic animals, and wildlife.
