Tell Iowa’s Members of Congress to lower health care prices! Protect the ACA!

Are you an Iowan on the ACA? Did you see your premiums rise? Are you paying the same or higher prices for a lower-tier plan? Are you paying more due to the expiration of tax credits?

Republicans have allowed the tax credits to expire, and Iowans are paying the price. Iowans are calling on our members of Congress to act to restore the Enhanced Premium Tax Credits (EPTCs). These tax credits allowed thousands of Iowans to access quality, affordable health insurance. But Republicans in Congress let them expire, even after gutting Medicaid and passing tax cuts for billionaires. These popular safety nets ensured our families, friends, and neighbors access to the affordable health care they need.

Now, 133,400 Iowans are seeing their premiums go through the roof at a time when they cannot afford it, and at least 16,300 hardworking middle-class Iowans are losing their health care tax credits completely. Our members of Congress could have extended the EPTCs when they voted for the Republican Tax Law. Instead, they cut Medicaid in order to fund tax breaks for millionaires and billionaires.

This means:

  • Higher Premiums: Iowans are seeing monthly health insurance payments rise sharply.
  • Loss of Coverage: Some families will no longer qualify for premium assistance and will be forced to go uninsured or get lower quality plans with higher out-of-pocket costs.
  • Market Instability: Insurers factored expiration into 2026 plans, increasing consumer coverage costs.

Iowans should not lose access to affordable health care to pay for tax cuts for billionaires and corporations. Tell your U.S. House Representative to stop raising costs. Bring back the health tax credits and make them permanent through the Health Care Affordability Act.

Add your name and let us know why you want to protect the ACA and EPTCs.
