Tell Spotify: Joe Rogan’s anti-vax lies are a danger to America.

The petition to Spotify reads:
“Pass a misinformation policy to stop Joe Rogan from spreading dangerous COVID lies.

If you Google "Spotify" and "COVID-19," one of the first results is a press release from the company hailing their efforts at "making it easier for our listeners to access accurate information about the COVID-19 vaccine." According to the press release, the company is doing all it can to ensure its listeners are getting accurate information so they can protect themselves and their loved ones from this deadly virus.

There's just one problem with that claim: One of their most popular podcast hosts, Joe Rogan is a COVID-denying, anti-vaxxer conspiracy theorist who pushes the horse medicine ivermectin to his millions of listeners.

If Spotify really wants to ensure that its listeners get accurate information about the pandemic, they need to put a stop to Joe Rogan’s lies. Sign the petition now if you agree.

By 2019, Rogan's podcast "The Joe Rogan Experience" had nearly 190 million monthly downloads, making it one of the most popular podcasts in the world. With so much exposure and influence comes great responsibility, but the host has repeatedly squandered opportunities to educate in favor of sharing misinformation.

Rogan has falsely claimed that Biden had faked getting the booster, creating conspiracy theories around the vaccine. He also told his audience that healthy people didn't need to be vaccinated against the disease, and then of course, there's the time he pushed Ivermectin (a drug that can cause hepatitis) as a cure-all for COVID-19.

Ironically, this COVID-19 "medical expert" later fell ill of the disease making many wonder if "The Joe Rogan Experience" isn't a podcast at all but the act of stupidly ignoring health guidelines only to get sick from COVID.

In September of last year, the same month of their vaccine education press release, Spotify signed an exclusive deal with Rogan bringing his podcast to the platform. Now, as part of the Spotify family, he has even more exposure and responsibility, yet his conspiracy theories and anti-vax continue. He has shared COVID lies at least twice since moving over to the platform. In his November 22 episode, he said that children didn't need vaccines, and on his Dec 13th episode, Rogan and a guest claimed the government was withholding medical treatments to "promote" the deaths of American citizens.

Spotify needs to pull the plug on Rogan's dangerous lies and conspiracy theories by implementing strict misinformation guidelines or getting rid of Rogan altogether. Sign the petition and demand accountability from Rogan and Spotify. Demand an end to their lies about COVID-19.
