Tell the Supreme Court: Respect the lower court decisions and keep troops out of our cities
Earlier this month, a district judge blocked Trump from sending the National Guard to Chicago. The U.S. Court of Appeals just upheld it.
Like clockwork, Trump is now running to his MAGA Supreme Court justices and begging them to give him permission to take over Chicago.
Trump’s Solicitor General is arguing that the lower court decisions, “cause irreparable harm to the Executive Branch by countermanding the President’s authority as Commander in Chief.” They’re saying it out loud—they think the wannabe dictator should be allowed to do whatever he wants, with no questions asked.
In reality, ICE is the violent threat in Chicago, not protestors.
ICE’s actions in Chicago have been some of the most brutal, shocking detentions yet. The people of Chicago have bravely spoken out to defend their friends and neighbors, and to protect our American democracy as a whole. They shouldn’t be subjected to trampling by federal troops because Trump wants to silence them.
The Trump administration is depending on the Supreme Court to swoop in and continue giving him the powers of a king. But the Constitution doesn’t belong to them. It belongs to us.
We the People need to demand that our Supreme Court not team up with Trump to trample over our rights and our neighborhoods.
Tell the Supreme Court: Respect the lower court decisions and keep troops out of our cities.
