The Fans Stand With Stadium Workers!

Aramark’s prices are out of control. And yet, stadium workers are being left behind.

Sign our petition to tell Aramark that the fans stand with the workers. Aramark must settle a contract which provides family-sustaining wages and healthcare benefits for year-round work.

In recent years, Aramark has raised the price of a cheese pizza 50% at Lincoln Financial Field, 67% at the Wells Fargo Center, and a whopping 93% at Citizens Bank Park.

Despite outrageous prices for the fans, wages for Aramark workers are failing to keep up with inflation and most workers have no health insurance.

UNITE HERE Local 274 is the union representing food service workers employed by Aramark at all 3 stadiums at the South Philly Sports Complex. Aramark workers in Philly earn significantly less than stadium food service workers in other major cities. Food service utility workers at the Capital One Arena in Washington D.C. and United Center in Chicago earn hourly wages of $21.50 and $21.55, respectively, while their counterparts at the Wells Fargo Center earn only $14.11 per hour. Employees who work a minimum of 910 hours per year between the United Center and Wrigley Field in Chicago are eligible for free, year-round health insurance. Only a few of Aramark's employees at the Sports Complex are eligible for employer-sponsored healthcare despite the fact that hundreds work for Aramark year-round. Eligibility for healthcare benefits for year-round workers remains a key sticking point in the contract fight between the union and Aramark.

Aramark stadium workers are done with being treated as second class citizens. In April, Aramark workers at the Wells Fargo Center held a four-day strike. On June 12th, dozens of Aramark workers from all 3 stadiums were arrested in a civil disobedience action outside Aramark’s global headquarters.

As fans of the number one baseball team in the league, and as proud Philadelphians, we should be able to take pride in how the workers who make and serve food and drinks at our stadium are treated.
