The Public Stands with NWLC Workers

One week ago—with half an hour notice given to the union—the National Women’s Law Center announced they would be eliminating 20% of staff, laying off 32 of our colleagues (including 21 members of our unit). This was gutting news, especially because we are in the midst of bargaining for our second contract.

These people are more than just our coworkers, and it is devastating to lose their talent & commitment to advancing gender justice, given the current moment we are in.

As a union, we are in solidarity with our members who were impacted by these layoffs and will support them — and our remaining members — as we navigate this transition.

We will be fighting hard to make sure that our CBA is followed and our colleagues are taken care of. If you want join with us in solidarity during this time, sign up here to stay on our contact list.
