We are the MCA workers, we are sticking together in our Union to keep each other safe. As our workplaces begin to re-open in the coming weeks and months, our lives will depend on the actions you take.

Together, we call on MCA to:

Healthcare. MCA must provide healthcare benefits for all of us under the collective bargaining agreement. We need to have the ability to protect our health throughout this pandemic. Losing our healthcare now is devastating and put our lives at risk.

Extend our recall rights. We know that recovery might take a long time, but we have worked hard for this company and all of us should have the opportunity to return. Recall rights should be extended to at least 24 months.

Respect our health and our families. Some of us are more likely than others to die if we get COVID-19. Others of us care for or live with family members who face that terrifying risk. MCA must allow us the opportunity to turn down an offer to return to work without us losing our access to unemployment or our seniority.

Commit to safe workplaces. MCA must commit to providing all of us with the training and tools that we need to stay safe on the job. That means providing us with protective equipment like masks and shields, adjusting operations and facilities to allow for social distancing, committing to transparency in communicating risks and exposure to COVID-19, and participating in a weekly safety committee meeting with workers to resolve our safety concerns quickly.

These are life-and-death issues. We look forward to your response.
