Training - pre-training questionnaire
We’re looking forward to welcoming you to the Labour Unions Political School.
This will take place from Friday 13 – Sunday 15 May 2022, at the Marriott Hotel in Leeds (about a 5 minute walk from Leeds station).
Our training will start at 3pm sharp on the Friday. You won’t be able to check in before that, but you will be able to leave your luggage in a secure room. We’re planning to finish by 2pm on the Sunday.
More information will be provided by email, but if you have any questions please contact helen@labourunions.org.uk.
Before you attend, we are asking all delegates to complete the following questionnaire, to help us make sure you get the most you can out of the Political School. In particular, we are asking you to do some work before you come to help you prepare.
We would like every attendee to provide a draft of a short ‘pitch’ for why you should be selected to stand for Parliament. You will have more time to work on this over the course of the weekend, so it doesn’t need to be perfect. This ‘pitch’, or story should explain in 150-200 words why local Party members should select you to be Labour’s candidate.
We would also like every attendee to produce a short video of NO MORE THAN 1 MINUTE where you explain to the viewer why you should be selected. Please don’t worry about making this slick or professional – a selfie video or asking a friend or family member to record you on a phone is fine.
Please note, the pitches and videos will only be seen by the training team, and won’t be shared with other delegates.
Please complete the whole form in one go, including uploading your pitch and video, no later than Sunday 8 May.
