UBI text banking training
Texting is an important way to reach people in the 21st century; and the American Union is using text banking to talk to voters about universal basic income as part of our 2022 campaign. We're backing a legislative package that ends poverty with UBI and a public option for health insurance, ends mass incarceration with major criminal justice reform, and ends the endless wars.
Are you enthusiastic about making UBI a reality, with all citizens receiving an regular and unconditional $1,300 each month? Want to share it with people in key swing districts? Sign up here for training: the next one will be held Friday, August 12, at 6:30pm over Zoom.
This will not be done with your own phone, but through a website that allows you to send individual texts to voters in our targeted swing districts. Fill out the form and we'll set up a texting account for you (password must be at least 6 characters), and send you a Zoom link for the training where we'll walk through the process with you.
For supporters of Andrew Yang's campaign, this is a great opportunity to dust off your counter arguments about why UBI is a bad idea. Many people will thoughtfully engage; others won't, but it's an opportunity to counteract some of the misinformation and misconceptions.
You can learn more about the UBI proposal on the American Union website, this infographic, or this video with more details on the legislation itself.
