Union Authorization Card - Do it for our patients & our profession!

On the heels of an unprecedented wave of pharmacy walkouts and protests in late 2023, pharmacy professionals are taking the next step to stand up for our patients and our profession: we're unionizing! Here are your next steps to join The Pharmacy Guild:

1. Fill out this Union Authorization Card
When you take this critical first step, a professional union organizer will follow up to guide you through the next steps of the process.

2. Make Your Plan of Action
If you have not already spoken to a staff organizer at The Pharmacy Guild, contact info@PharmacyGuild.org or call 301-967-4725. Your organizer will help you make a plan to unionize your workplace. It is critical to have a plan in place before discussing this with coworkers or taking further action.

3. Talk to Your Coworkers
Once you and your union organizer agree on a plan of action, start reaching out to coworkers you trust to ask them to sign this card. If there is anyone you don't know as well or don't feel comfortable reaching out to, inform your union organizer and they will help you figure out the best approach.

4. File for Your Union Election
When a majority of coworkers at your pharmacy fill out this digital Union Authorization Card, professional union staff will file a representation petition, along with your showing of support, with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). Your employer will NOT be informed that you signed this card.

5. Vote YES to Unionize and Win Your Election
The NLRB will schedule and run an election in which you and your coworkers have the right to vote for union representation with The Pharmacy guild. When a majority votes YES, you will be unionized and you can start negotiating your first union contract with support from The Pharmacy Guild.
