The petition to the Biden Administration reads:

"Cancel up to $50,000 per borrower of federal student debt."

After the Biden Administration announced that it would extend the moratorium on federal student loan payments through Jan. 31st, tens of millions of borrowers breathed a massive sigh of relief. The moratorium had been slated to end in just a few short weeks.

While the extension helps, a temporary moratorium is a far cry from what many have been calling for: Forgiveness of up to $50,000 in federal student loan debt per student.

A moratorium is simply not enough to rectify the damage and financial burden faced by millions of Americans – and it’s time we demand more from the Biden administration.
