Walsall Council elections - May 2026

Next May is a huge opportunity to boost the profile of the Green Party in Walsall and help to prevent Reform UK from gaining seats.

The evidence from across the country is clear: where we stand, Reform find it harder to win, even when we don't campaign at all!

There are 60 seats up for election in Walsall in May, covering 20 wards. That means we need more people willing to stand than ever before. Could you stand in a non-target seat to help us make a difference?

There may well be a target campaign too but that's yet to be decided. Our AGM is taking place on 11th September at 7 pm at the Royal Hotel on Ablewell Street. Sign up and come along if you'd like to have your say on that or stand for a Committee post.

There are lots of other roles too and it would be great if we could find out early on if you're interested in being involved. If you're not sure, or want to know more about any of these roles, please contact Karl on 07800 918 651 or karl.macnaughton@greenparty.org.uk

Here are the opportunities available:

  • Standing as a non-target candidate (a name on a ballot paper with no campaigning)
  • Standing as a target candidate (aiming to get elected, requiring a commitment to canvassing, delivering and working very hard between now and next May - please note this will involve a democratic selection process and would just be an expression of interest at this stage)
  • Delivering leaflets in a target ward
  • Knocking on doors to speak to voters / canvassing
  • Fundraising
  • Managing a campaign
  • Organising data for a campaign
  • Something else...

Please let us know using the list on the right side of this page.

Hopefully see you soon!
