Did you see this op-ed from Rep. Jared Golden?

Before the 2024 election, he actually wrote that “Donald Trump is going to win the election and democracy will be just fine.”

Can you believe that!?

Golden says we should “move past the outrage” and just accept another Trump presidency because “American democracy has withstood.”

There is nothing fine about Trump being in or returning to power — not after he tried to overturn an election, encouraged an attack on the Capitol, and built his entire movement on lies, hate, and corruption.

Democracy doesn’t survive on autopilot. It survives because ordinary people fight for it.

We can’t shrug. We can’t normalize this. And we sure as hell can’t accept the idea that it’s “just fine.”
