Hold a prayer or reflection about child hunger and Free School Meals for All

Last year, over four million children lived in households that went short on food.

Scotland and Wales are in the process of extending Free School Meals to every child in primary school. London will fund this for one year. But this Government is keeping children in the rest of England waiting.

On 24 – 30 June, we are holding a National Week of Action to dial up pressure on our MPs to act in compassion and justice and implement Free School Meals for All.

Dozens of leading organisations from Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Sikh and Jewish faiths have added their voice to our open letter asking the Prime Minister to take action. Together, you have brought a moral clarity to the issue of children going hungry at school, and have called for a moral response. We thank you.

Now we are asking faith leaders to lead a prayer or sermon for the next generation of children on Friday (23rd), Saturday (24th) or Sunday (25th).

Will you invite your congregations to reflect on the inequality children experience in their lives and in school today – and how we could end hunger in the classroom and offer a bright future to every child?

Use this form to indicate that you can join the week of action and we’ll send you a prayer guide with everything you’ll need.
