To become an Affiliated Chapter of Women’s March Foundation, chapters must have a base of volunteers engaged in the service of civic engagement with the goal of educating and supporting each other to further the fight for women’s rights, women empowerment and inclusivity.  This voluntary association promotes activities and programs that benefit its members, while aligning with the Women’s March Unity Principles.

Women’s March Foundation Chapter Affiliation Goals

·       Provide consistency of the Women’s March Foundation (WMF) movement amongst chapters across the country.

·       Have an effective national network of volunteers that appropriately represent the Women’s March movement.

·       Support chapters in their activities and programs to benefit members and their communities.

·       Share information that helps preserve and advance the work and efforts of members and their communities.

Promotional Materials and Logo

Affiliated Chapters will be given access to an online section of womensmarchfoundation.org that offers WMF branding and promotional assets.  A chapter which has been granted affiliated status may utilize these assets for promotion on social media, print materials, special events and member recruitment efforts.  To maintain brand consistency, Affiliated Chapters that do not follow WMF brand guidelines will be asked to remove such communication immediately.

Cooperative Programs

Affiliated Chapters are welcome to participate in and/or customize specific programs led by WMF, including the annual march.  Support for these programs will be featured on the Affiliated Chapter section of womensmarchfoundation.org.  

Application Process

Any chapter applying for affiliation with WMF must this form for consideration.

Annual Reporting of Chapter Activities for Grant Purposes

Each Affiliated Chapter that is interested in being included in grant application submissions by WMF, must submit an annual report of chapter activities to WMF which shall contain an outline of chapter activities for the past year and anticipated activities for the upcoming year.  This report will be made available on the Affiliated Chapter section of womensmarchfoundation.org and is due 60 days prior to the annual WMF conference.

Insurance

Each chapter shall consult with an insurance agent to determine if insurance coverage is necessary for its operation.

Structure

Affiliated Chapters and WMF are separate entities and as such shall not incur any liability, obligation or expense on behalf of each other.  Affiliated Chapters and WMF are prohibited from acting as agents or representatives of the other without express written authority.  Affiliated Chapters hereby indemnifies and holds harmless WMF and its officers, directors and employees from and against any suit, claim, obligation, cost and expense which may be incurred by Affiliated Chapters.

Although there are no WMF board seats offered, nor voting representation to Affiliated Chapters, chapter leaders are invited to attend a yearly conference to discuss goals and strategies.

The Affiliated Chapter shall not attempt to influence legislation or participate or intervene in any political campaign on behalf (or in opposition to) any candidate for public office or otherwise engage in the carrying on of propaganda (within the meaning of section 501c3 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986).

Chapter Affiliation is subject to termination if any of the following occurs:

·       WMF requests the Chapter Affiliate to cease activities that it deems might jeopardize its tax-exempt status and the Chapter Affiliate fails to comply within a period of ten (10) days.

·       Chapter Affiliate fails to perform or observe any of the above guidelines and guidelines listed in the Chapter Affiliate section of womensmarchfoundation.org, and this failure remains unremedied fifteen (15) days after notice in writing.

·       Upon expiration of four weeks after either the Chapter Affiliate of WMF has given written notice of its intent to terminate affiliation.
