Workshop Invitation: Reclaiming Yesah: Remembering, Reconciling, and Rising

We invite you to a powerful community workshop on Saturday, July 26, 2025, rooted in truth-telling, healing, and reclaiming. This event is open to all, but we especially welcome those ready to walk alongside us in learning, reflection, and growth.

Our Purpose

The goal of this workshop is simple but vital:
To educate and reintroduce Yesah, the Tutelo-speaking people whose voices, histories, and futures deserve to be heard and honored.
We are here, and it’s time to learn what was forgotten.

This full-day gathering will be divided into five sessions, each guided by a respected community member. We’ll move through history, heritage, healing, and hope. A lunch break will be included.

Tentative Schedule

Session 1: History = Education
Speaker Invited: Lawrence
We’ll explore what we were taught—and what was left out. Understanding our roots starts with unearthing the truth.

Session 2: Discovery = Our Heritage
Speaker Invited: Jason
We’ll discuss cultural memory, land, lineage, and how we reconnect with our ancestors' paths.

Session 3: Growth – Past, Present, and Future

Speaker Invited: Beverly
From survival to revival, we’ll trace how we’ve grown as a people and what we carry forward for generations to come.

Session 4: Reconciliation – Forgiving Ourselves and Others
Speaker Invited: Johnette
A guided space to reflect on personal and collective healing, forgiveness, and truth.

Session 5: Purpose – Where to Now?
Speaker Invited: Crystal
Together, we’ll ask: How do we live our truths and move forward in power, sovereignty, and shared responsibility?
