Xavier Becerra grew up in Sacramento, the son of a Mexican immigrant mother and a working-class father. He became the first in his family to go to a four-year university then spent 24 years in Congress fighting for California families, served as our Attorney General, and took on the biggest healthcare challenges in the country as U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services.

Now he's running for governor because the people who raised him — the nurses and teachers and construction workers and small business owners who hold this state together — deserve a leader who actually comes from their world.
