Creating Bold & Extraordinary Spaces Where Communities Can Connect Chicago's South & West Sides.
BCP is looking to strengthen civic engagement to build power in Black communities on Chicago’s Southside which experience disproportionate rates of intra-community violence, community divestment, and systemic poverty. This trauma has been amplified as a result of the COVID pandemic causing a complete disconnection from neighbors excluding them from access to the relationship building blocks necessary to build power.
BCP seeks to close this connection gap in the fragile political moment by creating an online skills library and dynamic skill labs via a robust digital organizing app; therefore, expanding access to vital organizing tools, centering Black voices, and giving innovative ways to share our Black stories to mobilize our communities.
