Black Leadership Action Coalition of Kentucky (BLACK) is an emerging and inclusive network of more than two hundred Black organizers and activists across Kentucky working together to build grassroots power and a Black policy agenda grounded in a shared vision and shared values.
BLACK is coordinating with local grassroots organizers to develop a leadership development program rooted in justice and healing for a cohort of directly impacted organizers. Recruitment begins this fall, followed by learning together in the winter, supporting collaborative projects next spring, and closing with a convening of all participants.
Currently, Louisville and Western Kentucky are the priority regions for this program, with plans to replicate its successes and deepen relationships across the state.
