I don’t know much about fundraising. What I do know is that Breonna Taylor and I share a birthday (June 5th) and while I am still here to celebrate mine this year, the officers who entered Breonna’s home without a warrant and shot her to death have still not been brought to justice. Today, I am requesting funds for the Louisville Community Bail Fund to support the protesters fighting the good fight in Breonna’s community, but any sort of donation you make today (whether to a bail fund in your local community or an organization fighting for Black lives) would honor her memory. You can also seek out her family’s GoFundMe at the link below and donate to them directly. No matter how you do so, please consider making a birthday donation in Breonna Taylor’s honor over this weekend. She mattered, her life mattered, and she deserved to see her 27th birthday.
Black Lives Matter.
