45 Contributions
Only 5 more until our goal of 50
Friends:
Most of you know that I have volunteered on presidential election campaigns for many years, and this year since the stakes are higher than ever, I knew I had to try to make my contribution as meaningful as possible!
After considering many options, I decided to work with Pennsylvania Stands Up (PASU), an extremely impressive grassroots community organization that has gotten young progressive candidates elected to local and state office, and has mounted campaigns on many issues, including Black Lives Matter. On one Zoom call of the Philadelphia chapter that I attended, there were 300 people of diverse backgrounds in attendance.
One of PASU’s biggest needs is leadership development, so I have become one of several “seasoned” organizers who is coaching local leaders over Zoom. Part of that leadership development involves a Fellows program, where promising lead organizers get paid to take intensive training over 9 weeks. This fall there will be 10-15 Fellows from Pennsylvania selected to join Fellows from other states.
I reaching out to ask you to help me fund the PASU Fellows program by making a contribution to Everyday People, the political action committee (PAC) to which PASU is partnering. For inspiration, you can meet one of the summer Fellows at a "Happy Hour” that I am sponsoring over Zoom on Sunday, September 6, 2020 at 5 pm PDT (8 pm EDT). Here is the link: https://www.mobilize.us/seedthevote/event/308090/
I hope you are able to join me for the Happy Hour! It would be great to “see” you. Too bad we can’t do this in person, but I look forward to buying you a drink the next time we meet in person!
Onwards to Victory on Nov 3!
