This year, our work has been more urgent than ever. South Carolina carried out 5 executions in 8 months—a sobering reminder of the injustices we’re fighting to end. Yet even in moments of sadness, the strength of this community has been undeniable.
You helped shine a light on the racial, ableist disparities and classist flaws in our death penalty system. You took action—calling, rallying, and advocating during clemency campaigns. Your efforts brought awareness to the humanity of those on death row and hope to their families.
While the outcomes weren’t what we prayed for, your work wasn’t in vain. You showed South Carolina and the world that the movement for abolition is growing in this state. And now, as we look toward the future, we need your help to sustain and grow this work.
SCADP is setting a bold goal to hire a full-time community organizer. With your support, we can get there! Will you help us reach the finish line?
A recurring donation—no matter the amount—provides us with the stability to keep fighting:
- To advocate for clemency for those on death row facing executions, as well as their families
- To educate the public about the death penalty’s injustice, including its racism, classism, and ableism.
- To support the passing of legislative work that will chip away at the power of the death penalty in our criminal legal system
Together, we can keep hope alive and build a South Carolina without executions.
