Stroud Greens plan to work for success in the Unitary Authority elections next year through to the next General Election where we are aiming to elect a Green MP.
Campaigning needs your commitment and enthusiasm. It also needs money which we have to raise locally. The national party has set us a target of raising £30,000 by the summer to employ a paid campaign co-ordinator. We already know that this is the minimum we will need.
A Pound for Parliament
Unlike other parties, the Green Party doesn’t have large corporate donors. We depend on donations from members and supporters like you to raise the funds we need for our Unitary and General Election campaigns.
That is why we are launching our Pound for Parliament campaign. We’re inviting you to make a small additional contribution of £1 a month (or more if you can afford it) direct to Stroud District Green Party, to help give us our best chance of a Green MP at the next election. With over 1,000 members, we can potentially raise £12,000 a year. That would be enough to deliver four newsletters to every household in our area. Just think how powerful that could be!
There are two ways you can set up a regular payment:
- if you have online banking, you can probably set up a standing order (sometimes called a “scheduled payment”) with a few clicks on the “make a payment” page of your online account. The details you will need are:
Account name: Stroud District Green Party
Account number: 20306425
Sort code: 60-83-01
Our bank name and address: Unity Trust Bank, 9 Brindley Place, Birmingham B1 2HB
- alternatively, you can set up a regular payment on the “Donate” page of our website (https://stroud.greenparty.org.uk/donate/). Bear in mind though that we pay a 20p transaction charge on every donation made through the website.
Thank you for all your support.
