Parents for Palestine YVR invites you to become a sustaining member of the Gaza Soup Kitchen and support their community kitchens, in particular their newest location inside the Gaza City YMCA.
Amidst a devastating aid blockade and critical food shortages, Gaza Soup Kitchen is one of only community kitchens that has never stopped operating. Each of its locations works tirelessly to feed up to 350 families each day that it's open, providing hope and nourishment amidst unimaginable challenges. Throughout the last two years, the incredible Gaza Soup Kitchen team has continued to source enough food – against all odds – to keep several locations consistently operating across the Gaza strip.
It currently costs about $750 USD to operate one location's kitchen for a single day. Thanks to this community's incredible solidarity, we are now able to fully support their Gaza City YMCA location to operate 6 days a week. But with famine conditions ongoing, we want to do more – so we're continuing to raise funds to ensure that we can keep supporting their operations as long as there is need.
For every 110 members of the Parents for Palestine community who join together and each donate $10 a week, we'll have enough to support one day a week of operations for a location feeding hundreds of families (including covering the cost of currency fluctuations and payment processing fees).
*Note: the total above is showing all donations over time and not per week
The need is immense. All of the existing kitchen locations across Gaza Strip continue to serve thousands, despite the dangers, shifting costs, and terrifyingly real food shortages.
With borders tightly controlled by the occupation and very little still going through, food prices are still out of reach for many families. The Gaza Soup Kitchen team is able to use our donations to buy what supplies they can find and combine them with occasional home-grown vegetables to sustain thousands of people.
By becoming a sustaining member of the Gaza Soup Kitchen, you can help ensure consistent operations, expand to areas of critical need, and provide life-saving resources to families who need it most. Together, we can make a tangible difference.
