2018 - Frank Pryor for PA House 74

Frank Pryor is a polished and dynamic professional with a track record of success in Higher Education, Government, Health Care Administration, Business Management, and Political Campaigns.

He has been a faculty member in the Political Science Department at Villanova University since 1997. He has taught a range of courses that include Public Policy, State & Local Government, and Political Economy. His teaching excellence has been recognized as a past recipient of the Pi Sigma Alpha Political Science Professor of the Year Award. His published research examines the relationship between faith-based organizations and electoral politics. He is a long time member of the American Political Science Association. His political career also includes invitations to White House meetings with Cabinet officials as well as business and education leaders.

Recent professional experiences in Frank’s career include serving as Chief of Staff & Senior Advisor for a city councilor in a major Northeastern city. In that role, he established priorities for an annual
$3 billion budget and had a range of responsibilities that included legislative leadership in the areas of Jobs & Economic Development, Education, Housing, Health Care, and Public Safety. He provided leadership to a professional team resulting in the effective provision of services for a constituent population of 71,000 residents. He also served on the Board of Directors for the largest anti-poverty & community development agency in New England charged with providing an array of human services while administering an annual budget of $130 million.

In 2014, Frank was appointed to serve on Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf’s Transition Team charged with providing policy guidance as part of his Higher Education Advisory Group. He believes that every Pennsylvanian that desires a college education should have access to one.

Locally, Frank serves as a member of the Regional Planning Committee for the Western Chester County Chamber of Commerce and remains committed to economic development and revitalization efforts district wide. He has built solid relationships throughout Chester County and with policymakers in Harrisburg and will use his deep understanding of the legislative process to be a lawmaker that provides professional leadership on behalf of the families of the 74th Legislative District and all Pennsylvanians.

Frank’s Community Involvement

Supporting and providing leadership to community organizations has always been important to Frank. Recently, he has served as the President & Treasurer of the Board of Trustees for the Coatesville Area Public Library providing strategic planning and financial stability to the organization.  He is particularly proud of the youth programming provided to the various communities the library serves.

Frank has a lifelong commitment to youth development and leadership programs which includes volunteering as a Youth Advisor for the N.A.A.C. P., mentoring and coaching in the Coatesville Area Little League, Greater Brandywine YMCA, United Sports Center of Downingtown and B.R.I.D.G.E.E. programs as well as volunteer work with the Brandywine Health Foundation and the Coatesville Youth Initiative.

Frank’s Roots

Frank comes from a well-grounded family and was raised with a strong work ethic. His mother was a bookkeeper and his father was a postal worker, steel worker, and public school teacher. His grandparents taught him the value of family. He had the honor of being a single-father and raising a daughter on his own and now has a wonderful wife and two young sons. He didn’t start college until he was 30 years old. Now he is a college professor and community stakeholder. He knows struggle, sacrifice, perseverance and success.

He understands the value of family, friends, neighbors and community. It is that appreciation that will motivate him to work tirelessly on behalf the citizens of Coatesville, Caln, Downingtown, East Caln, East Fallowfield, Modena, Parkesburg, Sadsbury, South Coatesville, and Valley.

Family

Frank resides in East Fallowfield, PA with his wife Isabel and two young sons. He also has a grown daughter, and they enjoy travel and educational trips as a family.
