2018 - Pam Hacker for PA House 26

About Pam

  • Born and raised in Pottstown, Pa
  • 1977 Graduate of St Pius X High School
  • 1988 Graduate of the IBEW Local 380 Apprenticeship Program- Industrial & Commercial Construction Electrician

My husband, Steve and I have lived in the 26th District for 36 years. We have three children who are all graduates of the Owen J. Roberts School District. Our oldest son, Clay, graduated from the University of Montana. Craig graduated from Temple University. Our daughter, Rosalee, is a senior at the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Navigating my way through my teens and early 20’s, I tried college three times but that just wasn’t for me. Through one of my various jobs (as a secretary for Electrical Engineering during the construction of the Limerick Nuclear Power Plant) I learned that Local 380 was taking applications to their apprenticeship program. I am now in my 33rd year as a construction electrician. I have been both a job foreman and steward. My proudest accomplishments are that I was the first woman elected in my locals’ history to be elected to the Examining Board, then to the Executive Board(twice).

Now that Local 380 has been absorbed into Local 98 through merger, I am honored to be a member of IBEW Local 98N.
