The Accounting Professionals of New York is made up of diverse professionals across New York State who are part of a vital industry: accounting. In the United States, 48 states have enacted non-CPA ownership allowing non-CPA professionals such as IT specialists and tax specialists to hold a minority ownership stake in professional accounting firms. Yet, New York—the financial capital of world—does not allow this. Our goal is to urge New York State to enact non-CPA ownership now.
