Assisting mothers who have children in the detention centers of Kentucky. As a mother of a child that is in a detention center, I have been advocating for support for the children and the families so that they can overcome the adversity of being apart. We are a new and small group who has been bringing awareness to the needs of inner city and disadvantaged families of young people. I am able to amplify the current needs and wishes of families to various organizations. As I continued to amplify, folks said to open an organization because this was the first of its kind. Parents from across my region of Kentucky have been reaching out to me about the ongoing needs of their families. My organization has also been in community with other organizations, churches, and legislators at the state and federal level.
