AFSCME Texas Correctional Employees Council represents the largest group of public employees in the Great State of Texas. Our members patrol Texas' toughest beat greatly out numbered in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, which houses over 150,000 inmates, making it the largest state run penal system in the United States.
