The Alaska Climate Caucus was founded in May 2016 as a tier II subdivision of the Alaska Democratic Party. Our priorities are to change the Democratic Party Platform to align with the Bernie Sanders campaign and to field aggressive progressive climate/energy candidates and policy initiatives in Alaska. Based on results of a member poll, our current priority issues are:

#1) End state oil tax subsidies
#2) Alaska Climate Smart Energy Plan
#3) Climate adaptation, mitigation & food security
#4) State carbon tax and dividend
#5) Ban fracking in Cook Inlet and statewide
