Ankeny Area Democrats is an independent, volunteer-led Political Action Committee organizing year-round in Ankeny and the surrounding area. Our mission is straightforward: identify, support, and elect Democratic candidates at the state and local level while strengthening Democratic engagement across our community.

We are focused on building lasting infrastructure, not just winning a single election. That means recruiting strong candidates, training and equipping volunteers to organize effectively, and running comprehensive Get Out The Vote efforts in partnership with county, state, and national Democrats.

In recent cycles, Ankeny Area Democrats has become one of the most active local Democratic organizations in Iowa. Even in challenging statewide environments, we helped elect and defend Democratic representation in Iowa House Districts 41 and 42 and have continued working to expand voter registration and civic participation across Ankeny.

We believe strong local organizing drives strong statewide results. Our goal is simple: grow Democratic participation, support candidates who reflect our community’s values, and ensure Ankeny voters always have a real choice at the ballot box.
