We are trying to stop a company known as Patriot Tactical Arms from seeking a zoning variance from the Town of Babylon to open a gun shop in the Deer Park community. The gun shop, proposed to be located at 289 Skidmore Road, is close to the new children's playground, First Baptist Church of Deer Park, and Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Although the zoning of this parcel is industrial, a special exception is needed to operate a gun shop. We are seeking support from the residents of the Town of Babylon and specifically those of the community of Deer Park to oppose the gun shop in the Deer Park Community. We feel it would disrupt the peaceful, quiet enjoyment of nearby land use, detract from the character of the neighborhood, and not promote the general interests and welfare of the surrounding community which our elected Town officials are responsible for preserving.

Please sign this petition if you agree that a gun shop has no place in our neighborhood. A petition with these signatures will be presented to the Supervisor of the Town of Babylon with a request to disallow the application from proceeding.
