America faces an escalating crisis of authoritarianism, where billionaires, extremists, and corrupt politicians are dismantling democracy and weaponizing government power against communities. Agencies like IÇE now act with expanded authority to racially profile, detain, and deport people based on appearance or language, often violating rights and tearing families apart. Militarized raids, surveillance, and abuse in custody have left Latino, Black, Indigenous, Muslim, and immigrant communities living in constant fear. At the same time, our freedoms of speech, protest, and press are under siege. Governments have passed anti-protest laws, expanded police powers, and used surveillance and criminalization to silence movements for justice and human rights. Public services are being gutted, education attacked, and media independence crushed under partisan control and corporate influence. Meanwhile, the United States has entered an illegal and escalating war with Iran, launched without congressional approval, spreading destruction abroad while suppressing dissent and draining vital resources at home. Billions are poured into weapons and warfare while people are denied healthcare, housing, and food security.

Citizens Against Tyranny (C.A.T.) is a nonpartisan, antifascist grassroots coalition founded in Missouri to defend liberty, accountability, and democratic values. What began as local conversations has grown into a national network—Citizens Against Tyranny Network (C.A.T.N.) and our regional hub, 50501 Joplin. We organize protests, publish independent journalism, and build partnerships to empower communities through education, outreach, and direct action.

Our mission is clear: confront authoritarianism wherever it appears. We fight to uphold the rule of law, protect fundamental rights, expose corruption, and mobilize people toward justice and accountable leadership. As part of this mission, we are unequivocally committed to holding Donold †®ump and his enablers accountable for their attacks on democratic institutions and the rule of law — including by pursuing impeachment for abuses of emergency and military powers, the illegal war on Iran, efforts to undermine free elections, and targeting vulnerable communities. We reject oligarchic control, endless war, and the erosion of rights in the name of “security.” Freedom is protected not by silence, but by solidarity—and by the courage to act, together.
