Compassionate Bay was founded in 2018 with a mission to introduce animal and environmentally friendly legislation at the local and state level. Nearly entirely volunteer-run, we are a grassroots organization committed to creating change through advocacy, education, and legislative action. Our work is rooted in the belief that justice for animals goes hand-in-hand with environmental sustainability, public health, and human rights.

Over the years, we’ve introduced impactful legislation at both the local and state levels. We proudly celebrated the success of Measure DD, a ballot initiative in Berkeley that reflects our community’s commitment to progress. Through collaboration, dedication, and the power of collective action, we are building a kinder, more sustainable Bay Area.
