Dayna Blazey for 167th District Court
Dayna Blazey is a 35 year resident of Travis County and a life-long, Progressive Democrat who's spent over 30 years serving the people of our community as a felony prosecutor. She's running to be Judge of the 167th District Court to institute true criminal justice reform by working to improve indigent defense and protect the rights of the accused and victims alike, while ensuring justice is fair and accessible for every person.
Over her career, Dayna has handled tens of thousands of felony cases, trying over 70 felony cases to a jury, including 17 sexual and aggravated sexual assault jury trials. For 16 years she led the Child Protection Team overseeing investigations of allegations of abuse and neglect of our youngest and most vulnerable community members. Currently, Dayna is Director of Diversion Programs, using evidence-based best practices to keep low-level, non-violent offenders out of jail and get them the services they need.
