Los Angeles has suffered a historic fire that has severely harmed our region and working people. The effects of the Los Angeles fires will reverberate for months and even years as the threat of Disaster Capitalism and hyper-gentrification looms from the wholesale displacement of communities due to the fires.

An organized and clear vision for a just and sustainable fire recovery that serves working class Angelenos is needed to fight the emerging Disaster Capitalism oriented recovery plans being articulated by capitalist class forces in our region.

To continue our planning an organizing in response to the Los Angeles fires DSA-LA is forming a the working group will be tasked with formulating concrete political demands and an organizing plan that will guide the chapter’s work to fight for a just and sustainable recovery for the communities impacted by the Los Angeles fires and the broader Los Angeles region.
