Emma Hare

Emma Hare is the Vice Chair of the San Francisco Democratic Party.

Emma is a lifelong Democrat and tireless champion for Assembly District 17 which includes the Chinatown, the Mission, West Portal, the Castro, and countless other vibrant neighborhoods in San Francisco.

Emma began her career in public service in San Francisco during the first Trump Administration working to secure asylum for those fleeing violence and persecution. Since 2017, she has served the San Francisco Mayor’s Office and San Francisco Board of Supervisors representing community interests, developing policy, and advocating for a brighter future for our City. She has worked closely with business owners to support the regional economy and led efforts to restore the economic sustainability of the Municipal Transportation Agency and keep MUNI running.

Emma is a Fulbright Scholar, graduate of Georgetown University, and graduate of Emerge California. She and her husband, John, can be seen walking through Precita Park, enjoying a meal at Elena’s in West Portal, and celebrating special occasions in Chinatown.
