For the Many NJ is a statewide coalition of more than 30 organizations working collectively to promote adequate and sustainable funding sources and sound budget practices through policy change and advocacy. Our members reflect a wide scope of New Jersey populations and issues, and include public sector unions, policy experts, environmental groups, anti-poverty advocates, immigrant rights groups, and other community-based organizations from around the state.

Purpose of Coalition

For the Many NJ brings our collective voices and resources together to expand state funding and improve budget practices to adequately meet current and future needs, especially for communities that have been historically marginalized. Our primary coalition work will be:

• Advocating as a coalition for key issues related to the annual state budget, highlighting the ongoing need for renewable sources of revenue, creating a fairer tax code, endorsing responsible budget practices.

• Focusing on expanding racial, economic, environmental, and immigrant justice in the Garden State explicitly through these budget priorities.

• Deliberately providing opportunities for organizational members to sign on and lend their support to specific pieces of legislation, sign on letters, and public statements.
