Forest Preserves Teamsters United
We are the Forest Preserves Teamsters United, a group of rank and file members who work for the Forest Preserve District of Cook County as laborers, arborists, restoration specialists, mechanics, and event coordinators.
The mission of the Forest Preserves of Cook County is:
“To acquire, restore and manage lands for the purpose of protecting and preserving public open space with its natural wonders, significant prairies, forests, wetlands, rivers, streams, and other landscapes with all of its associated wildlife, in a natural state for the education, pleasure and recreation of the public now and in the future.”
The members of the Forest Preserves Teamsters United are the on-the-ground stewards of this mission. In partnership with the land, our team makes up the backbone of the Forest Preserves of Cook County. We actively manage the recreational areas and diverse ecosystems of the Cook County Forest Preserves with passion, dedication, and skill. Our workers are in contract negotiations with the County, and we need your support to reach a fair and timely deal that reflects our commitment to our Preserves.
