The Free Alabama Movement (FAM) was founded inside the Alabama prison system in 2013 as a civil and human rights organization committed to improving the lives of the men, women, and children incarcerated in Alabama.

We are an Inside-based, Inside-led collective of freedom fighters, revolutionaries, human and civil rights activists, and advocates, organizers, street organizations, and Spiritual/religious communities, all collaborating and working together to affect change in US policies, practices, and conditions concerning incarceration, criminal justice, prisons, and slavery.
