GAAEJ is focused on development, environmental racism and climate justice in and around Gainesville, FL. We are currently focused on contesting a landfill expansion very close to Boulware Springs, Paynes Prairie, and a neighborhood including homes, churches, schools, playgrounds and a 20-acre organic farm (which has provided fresh food to all the public schools in the county), in an area that has been historically a dumping ground for wealthier, whiter businesses and residents.
