We are Alaska health professionals, providers, and allies standing together to defend evidence-based, gender-affirming care. The Alaska State Medical Board is attempting to label this lifesaving care as “gross negligence”, a political attack that threatens our patients, our colleagues, and the families who trust us.

Our purpose is clear: to ensure that transgender and gender-expansive youth, and the families who support them, can continue to access safe, evidence-based care without fear or stigma.

By signing on, Alaska’s medical community is sending one message: the Medical Board does not represent us. We will not allow ideology to replace science, or political appointees to strip families of their right to make healthcare decisions with their providers. Together, we affirm our duty to protect health, dignity, and belonging for every young person in Alaska.

This campaign is organized by Identity, Alaska’s LGBTQIA2S+ health provider, to give providers across disciplines and regions a collective voice against politicized attacks on evidence-based care.
