North Georgia Community Action Network (NGA CAN)
North Georgia Community Action Network (NGA CAN) is a volunteer led civic organizing collective serving Cherokee, Pickens, Bartow, Forsyth, and Cobb counties in Georgia. We bring neighbors together to defend our communities and build local power through direct action, mutual aid, and civic accountability. Our work includes protecting families from displacement and harmful development, supporting immigrant neighbors through rapid response and coalition partnerships, holding local governments accountable on surveillance technology and data centers, and helping voters make informed choices with county by county voter guides. NGA CAN is organized through local chapters, each with its own name and self determined focus, like Woodstock CAN, Canton CAN, and Jasper CAN, so members can act on the issues that matter most in their own towns. From weekly visibility actions and mutual aid events to public comment campaigns and open records requests, we believe ordinary people, organized and informed, can shape what happens in their own backyard. Join us and be part of building a North Georgia that works for everyone.
