Massachusetts Muslim community leaders and groups are working to pass legislation that would establish a Massachusetts state commission aimed at studying issues affecting American Muslim communities in the Commonwealth to combat Islamophobia.
The perspective and experiences of American Muslims are often absent in policy conversations on issues that directly impact us. And we believe it is crucial for the Muslim community in Massachusetts and around the country to have permanent full-time state commissions dedicated to documenting the unique challenges we face, and making recommendations to state lawmakers and community leaders to address these issues.
