The Mesh Boston Network is a group committed to delivering free, secure wifi for all throughout the greater Boston area.
Get Involved
We need your help! Our network is built on volunteer hardware which is owned and operated by members of our community. If you're ready to take the next step towards digital freedom, there are lots of ways you can help!
- attend our weekly video meetings at 11am on Sundays;
- join the MassMesh Outreach channel;
- subscribe to our email list;
- volunteer at one of our upcoming events such as tabling at the Boston Anarchist Bookfair on Nov. 12-13;
- set up a node in your area;
- set up a recurring donation;
- distribute our flyers: Style 1 or Style 2. More styles/formats...
Any other questions can be sent to info@meshboston.net.
Hosting a Node
If you're interested in hosting a node, sign up and we will contact you. You can get started by following the Node Setup instructions if you have the required hardware.
Due to the chip supply shortage Raspberry Pi 4Bs 1GB, which we use to encrypt communications over the Yggdrasil network, are in short supply. Places to find them, when they are available, include Microcenter in Cambridge, MA and PiShop. You can find other sellers at the bottom of the Raspberry Pi 4B page.
We are looking at using old PCs as a fallback until Raspberry Pis are available. If you want to help with that effort, contact us.
