National Women's Political Caucus
Washington, DC
The National Women’s Political Caucus was founded in 1971 by feminist luminaries including Gloria Steinem, Shirley Chisholm, Bella Abzug, Fannie Lou Hamer, and Betty Friedan. The NWPC is a multi-partisan pro-choice, grassroots organization dedicated to increasing women’s participation in the political process and working toward gender equity in elected and appointed office.
The NWPC works to recruit and support women candidates running for all levels of government. While the National Office works to endorse federal candidates, our state chapters work with candidates running at the state and local level.
