Ohio For The People
Ohio For The People (OH4P) is an Ohio based Political Action Committee. Our goal is to leverage digital tools in combination with grassroots organizing to build real political power for the people of Ohio. Our long term vision is to strategically engage, organize, and mobilize progressive voters in all 99 statehouse districts to build a grassroots army of activists, organizers, and watchdogs to demand people-first legislation from our representatives. Those efforts will also be the backbone for building the infrastructure to support a progressive wave at the local and state level in 2019 and 2020 in Ohio.
This long term planning will have to wait though, because this cycle we want to put all our initial energy on the most pressing progressive priority for Ohio - passing Issue 1.
Addiction is not a crime, and incarceration is not the answer to issues we face. We desperately need a new solution, and that is exactly what Issue 1 presents.
- We need to STOP wasting prison space on people convicted of nonviolent crimes and people that are no longer a threat to public safety.
- We must START funding rehabilitation and community treatment centers so that struggling Ohioans get the help they need.
This kind of fight is right up our alley and we are excited to join it and make this November a historic moment for the people of Ohio!
