PACES Vancouver
PACES (Parents for AI Caution in Educational Spaces) is a group started in New York by a concerned parent and educator, Kelly Clancy. We are a group of parents in Vancouver, British Columbia, who are concerned about the use of generative AI in schools. We were inspired by the successes of PACES in New York that we asked to become the first international chapter of PACES here in Vancouver.
Multi-million dollar AI companies are changing the way our children learn, even as more and more evidence shows its extremely negative effects on learning and mental health.
We have seen seen the damage that AI tools have already caused to university students in the last two years. We see that junior schools are being targeted by AI companies and will make the problem far, far worse.
